Protecting College Students from Evil Capitalists

Congress is working on this.

So Congress is worried about students paying several thousand dollars and investing 18 months of their lives for a degree that may not repay their student debts. No word yet on whether they are looking into students who spend four years and $160,000 for Ivy League gender studies degrees, which we all know have simply enormous income-generation potential.

Congress should stop concerning itself with matters of parenting, and let stupid people learn a lesson for once.

And stupid student loan providers.

And when the easy student loans dry up, I'll bet university prices go down, too. Interesting how that works.

Anyway, I find it hard to feel much sympathy, since I ended up at CSU Fresno for my degree precisely because I didn't want to leave college with more debt than a starter home would give me.

The government is going to be issuing all the new student loans its ownself, and they never learn a lesson.

Plus, did you know--you can never get rid of a student loan, even if you go bankrupt.

Miriam, I did not know that! That is a very interesting, and I'll bet little known, fact.
