Miriam, I wanted to tell you not to be discouraged by "0" comments: for myself I can say that I'm reading everything you write...it's just I've nothing to contribute except "I agree with you".
Tat: It is delightful to have such a perceptive reader. I appreciate it, I really do. I also appreciate your comments, which are right on the money.
Cromwell and his Puritan allies weren't much of a replacement.
But Cromwell let the Jews back into England. Sort of.
