Surgery tomorrow

So--I'm having surgery on my right arm tomorrow. Possibly I will be typing soon, probably not. I already know what to expect, if this is like any other surgery: pain, tedium, frustration, tedium, pills, blood leaking from bandages and trying to take a shower with one arm in a plastic bag. (It doesn't really work. The arm, or leg, or knee, or foot, gets wet anyway.) Sort of.

I've always wanted to do what Tim Blair does. Talk among yourselves, you readers. Please use English, good grammar, proper spelling, and all the political incorrectness you can muster.

I only read this just now.

How do you feel, Miriam? Not great, I expect - but passable?
Wish you to get better soon, and to blog.

Can Mr. Charm type your health report for us?

Hi Miriam! I got sent here from Tim Blair's blog, all primed and ready to participate in a big long debate/discussion about whatever. So having arrived, I looked over your blog and I think I like you... from what little I know.
Good luck with the operation.

Well, if nobody has anything to discuss, that's good, isn't it? It means everybody is happy, doesn't it?

Thanks for the good wishes,
Miriam

What ho, Miriam! Tim sent me over with a pot of chicken soup. Since Mrs. Paco is partially out of commission, recovering from her fractured ankles, I made it myself. You may want to filter it through a sieve, since there seem to be a few beaks and some soggy feathers in it (Dang! Forgot to pluck the thing again!)

Seriously, best wishes and a quick recovery.

Hi Miriam.
Tim sent me... hope you're getting better.
It's OK, we promise we won't make a mess... or eat all your food, or drink all your grog.
Promise

(Hey, you lot! Party here at Miriam's!)

Blair's blog is decidedly quicker than Aussie Post. All the best for the surgery and happy Australia Day

Get on your feet again soon Miriam, keep typing, you'll be fine.

Trust me......

Most men who use the Internet at home, spend half their time typing with one hand.

I'm sure you'll do just fine.

I always find the waiting before hand to be the worst.

After the operation each day atleast brings you one day closer to recovery. Best wishes for the operation Miriam.

Good luck with that. Hope the cutters know their stuff and the stitchers even more so.

Hope all is going OK, Miriam (directed here by Tim Blair)

Random off-topic theory:

Charles Johnson goes after anyone who opposes or rejects the incumbent political "winds", irrespective of whether they are right or wrong.

Bush in office? Target the left-wingers
Obama in office? Target the right-wingers.
Global warming and IPCC? Target the skeptics

Goodness, my first thought was that Tim was having surgery.

Regardless, good luck with the surgery, Miriam, and I'm just going to head out the back for a glass of sav blanc to go with the snags in bread.

Nice barby you're running here.

I also was sent over by Tim Blair. Actually, it was more like being directed here. With signs with arrows and the words "food here".

Good luck Miriam with your surgery. Don't bother getting up. We'll make ourselves comfortable. I hope you stocked your pantry and refrigerator.

By the way, do you have a grill?

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY! I wish you well Miriam. It's a bummer having to have surgery on anything. I've had my share plus some when I was a kid. It just sucks.
When do you get out?

In most cases like this, surgery's easy; recuperation's hard.

Don't try to push too hard on the recuperation. Better to spend some quality time down, complete recovery, and then back up to full speed for good.

Good luck!

No grill, but I have all the wine you'll ever need.

Also pretzels filled with peanut butter. But do Australians eat peanut butter? Or is that an American thing? George Washington Carver and all that, you know. It's our heritage.

Like Australia Day for you guys. But isn't every day Australia Day when you live in Australia?

A good many of us are American and Canadian, Miriam, despite hanging out at Blair's Outback Pub. Hope your recovery is swift and painless.

Btw, don't worry, after the party's over we make our captive trolls sweep and wash dishes.

To introduce a new topic that has me steamed up:http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703808904575025231056290438.html

Who is running our intelligence (?) service: Larry, Curly and Moe?

daddy dave said...

since you ask, it's just Moe. Larry and Curly, if allowed, would provide much-needed perspective and insight.

Cranky: You're right--but I have had as many offers for viagra and penis extenders as I can handle, not to mention housecleaning in Idaho.

And, of course, the odd anti-semitic remark.

miriam sawyer said...

Dave: Your right. Larry and Curly have a certain gravitas which Moe lacks.

BTW, recovery going well, me going crazy because of the cast.

Hello,
Greetings from Salt Lake. Just dropped in from Tim Blair's blog. Where am I?

miriam sawyer said...

Sam: You're in Delaware, USA. Pull up a chair and make yourself at home.
