Did Palin ever threaten a librarian?

Put up or shut up:

I have some news for Ms. Palin about the responsibilities of a community organizer. I know something about it because my son Matthew is a community organizer; and in south Chicago, as it happens.

It’s true that he doesn’t have the responsibilities of a small-town mayor. He’s never had the responsibility to use authority and power to threaten to fire the librarian for not banning books that were incompatible with the mayor’s personal beliefs and tastes.

Well, did this happen? Names and dates, please.

Meanwhile, about that community organizer job Barack Obama had--how did that work out for the community? More jobs? Better housing? Slumlords (Tony Rezco, call your office) persuaded to take good care of their properties? Are the schools any better? Does the city pick up trash more regularly and keep the streets clean?

You know, that's true. If he'd been a big success as a C.O. (to coin a phrase), don't you think his benefactors would have been assembled about him on the stage at the Dem Convention--like Kerry and his "heroic crew."?

Here's a version of the explanation of the librarian firing:

Dick: Thanks for clarifying the librarian stuff.

Who pays a "community organizer"?

It's like the Pat Buchanan deal. The media thugs who are swarming her kids (have we had any investigative pieces on Barry's daughters' behavior in school?)claim she supported him. She says she wore his button the day she was mayor and he came to town, though she was campaigning for Forbes. What the media doesn't mention is that Buchanan has endorsed Barry.

I believe a non-profit organization called Acorn employed him, but I'm not sure. They have been accused of voter fraud in some jurisdictions.

From what I've understood, the head librarian position referred to is a political appointee job, kind of like secretary of education. Typically they're all fired when the new administration takes over, because they're supporters of the old administration.
Next, the "list" of books that Palin asked to have banned is, well, a complete hoax.
No book was asked to be banned by her, the list was copied from a website talking about all banned books ever.
In fact, several of the books listed were still years away from being published when this whole affair occurred!

So this is a tempest in a teapot, innuendo substituting for fact.

I worked as a small town library director my whole life and never had a politician demand books be removed from the library. Such demands--very rare--usually came from a member of the public, and the politicians, to be fair, have been supportive.

I object to them on other grounds.

Yes, he was employed by ACORN, and they still support him, of course. We get them coming to the door now and then. Not scruffy, but obviously not YAFers, either. That's Young Americans for Freedom, a conservative outfit once very popular. Not sure if it still is.

If HE was a community organizer, why is so much of Chicago so...unorganized? I mean, really, dying the Chicago River green for St. Patrick's Day?! Hasn't anyone in Cook County realized by now that the Chicago River is already green?
