This plant has been sitting in the same spot for three years. Occasionally, I would water it a little. Last week it started blooming, with no encouragement.
It's called Xmas cactus - supposedly in our [NorthEastern] climate its blooming season coincides with Christmas. It's woke up 2 weeks before Easter...it must be a sign. Of something.

Maybe it's a Passover cactus. Or a Purim cactus. A St Patrick's Day cactus?

Whatever it's called, it's a cactus on its own schedule. We have one of those. They do better in the sun.
