I'm pretty sure it's a sushi tray with (I hope!) pretend display sushi.
It still really suchs as a mom's day present, though.
Those things on the tray are horns, I think.
Next time he should go with an almanac.
By the way, it's hard to see, but the tray is covered with cowhide.
